On the 14th of Aug the team arrived at Tehran. After lodging at our friend Arayik’s place and having a rest along with Sourik we set of to Meydanm Monirie( circle of Monirie) where a lot of mountaineering stores are located . Some of us bought some equipment that was missing.

The team of climbers is going to set out for Tehran in the morning of 13 of Aug. After getting to Tehran in the afternoon of 14th and staying there overnight, already in the morning of 15th one part of the climbers is going to the second camp, situated 4200metres below Alamkouh peak(4850m), and the women of the group are going to the coast of Caspian sea(about 20km far from Alamkouh peak) and wait for the next part of the group, which will join them after the climb.

Aghvan Chatinyan was born on December 14, 1927 in Vardapluri, a village in Stepanavan, Armenia. In 1945 graduated from Kirovakan Agricultural College with honors. In 1948, after having worked for three years, he entered Yerevan State Institute of Physical Culture as a gymnast and graduated from it in 1952. Afterwards he was employed as a senior lecturer there. He had worked as an associate professor at Yerevan State Institute of Physical Training since 1982 and has been working as a professor since 1999 up to present. He is an honorable member of the Armenian National Olympic Committee, as well of the club “UP THE ROCKS”.

At the beginning of August, 2007 our Armenian friends from Iran Sourik Stepanian and Araik Jahanian came to Yerevan to set off for Georgia, Kazbegi to climb up Mt Kazbek (5035m) with some ‘Spitak’ rescue team members. Andranik Miribyan and Karen Hamamchyan decided to join the team, I was also willing to do so but unfortunately I had some things to do in Yerevan that couldn’t be postponed. In the morning of August 08 they loaded the backpacks into Ando’s Niva and set off. In the evening they got to a hotel in Kazbegi.
