Up The Rocks

At the evening of July 24, we found a lovely camping area near the river in Garni gorge. July 25 was the day of Garni gorges basalt columns research .

In the evening of July 15 we got to Arpa gorge and set up the camp below the slope of the “Devil’s tower”.

In the evening of July 13 we got to the Hell’s canyon and set up the camp. July 14, Examining the rocks of the canyon. The upper part rocks of the canyon seemed chossy and we didn’t like much.

In the evening of July 2 we got to the Noravanq canyon and set up the camp. The next morning we spent few hours trying to find everything in the quickly stacked bags we prepared the day before.
However it was two o’clock of hard, hot day when Vadik and me started to climb the perfect 100 meter crack we noticed right in front of our camp.
It would be considered a blessed crack if it wasn’t full of soil and rocks. Luckily, on the first pitch Vadik was belaying standing a bit far from the wall...

On July 1, club Up The Rocks kicked off the “Arev” Armenian First Ascent Open Festival. The guest participants at that point where from Iran (5 climbers) and Russia (Vadik Sirekanyan).
