Bjni crag

Bjni is a town 32kms north from Yerevan located in Kotayk Province, Armenia. It is the site of the 9th century Bjni Fortress of the Pahlavuni family. It is the home of many churches as well, including the Bjni Church. The village was the family land of Pahlavunis and had played a significant role in medieval Armenian life. Bjni crag is 40 to 50 meters high basalt, stretched more than 200meters. At the Soviet Union times there were organized competitions by the Soviet Union Alpinism Federation. It is possible to make camp in the pretty garden of Bjnis St. Astvatsatsin 10nt century church 10 minutes to walk from the crags.
