Up The Rocks

The team of climbers is going to set out for Tehran in the morning of 13 of Aug. After getting to Tehran in the afternoon of 14th and staying there overnight, already in the morning of 15th one part of the climbers is going to the second camp, situated 4200metres below Alamkouh peak(4850m), and the women of the group are going to the coast of Caspian sea(about 20km far from Alamkouh peak) and wait for the next part of the group, which will join them after the climb.

Early in the morning of 16 of Aug all the climbers of the team are going to ascend to the peak by the “German’s flank” estimated as 5b/5.9.

Early In the morning of 17 of Aug at 3a.m. five climbers of the group - Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, Andranik Miribyan, Robert Vardanyan, Tigran Episkoposyan and Alexandr Margaryan are going to climb up to the top by the “French route”, 600m, A1 6c+/5.11b.

The team has to pass the glacier below the wall and to be on the wall before sunrise as when it gets warmer the rockfall starts and continues during the day. Under this circumstances it’s extremely dangerous to be on the glacier and it’s safer to be on the wall as the rocks fall at a little distance from the vertical wall.

After a succesful climb the part of the “French Route” climbing team will join the next part of the team waiting at the Caspian seaside.
