Hi everyone! It’s me, one of the amount climbers in Russia. You have read about myself yet and now I’d like to tell you something about sport climbing, my favorite activity. Sport climbing is a style of rock climbing. The first Russian sport climbing competitions were organized in the summer of 1947 on the rocks of Dombai (West Caucasus). It was 60 years anniversary in 2007, btw I carried out rating of master that summer =).

Besides, in 1968 sportsmen of Sverdlovsk built the first wooden simulator of a rock. It was the beginning of sport climbing on walls in Russia. Daily I go for sport climbing. Only in summer we have a chance to leave for rocks. Good places where I have been are the Crimea rocks (Nikita’s rocks and Red Stone near Yalta), very nice area in Armenia (such as Noravank canyon and boulders at Hrazdan canyon in Yerevan), also places near Krakow in Poland. Besides, we have a lot of places in our region, which we can reach them. To be on professional level in sport climbing you need rocks as chief coach of our sport school A.I.Tsvirenko always says. Btw our coach is a Honoured Coach of Russian Federation.
